O
n a "less settled" note, visitors to this site can now enter the truly frightening world of my mind, which can be accessed from our " What I'm Thinking " page.

We've also taken the time to upload the latest iteration of our monthly E-zine, "Aging Well", so take the time to check it out if you can.

Next, we've recently added a page which we call, "On the Radio". It's from this area that you'll be able to access clips of historic radio broadcasts and classic radio programming from the 1930's-1950's. Enjoy.

To continue, don't forget about our Speaker's Bureau, should you need presenters knowledgable about a wide array of "aging issues".

Finally, please take a few minutes to visit our "Frequently Asked Questions" page, where you'll learn more about who we are and what we do. Thank you, drive through.

About Your Agency
:

Crater District Area Agency on Aging is committed to helping Virginia's seniors to remain in their homes for as long as possible while helping to maintain their quality of life and independence as they age.

With the impending arrival of Seventy-Six million senior citizens, your support is needed
now, more than ever.

Crater
District Area Agency on Aging was first established in 1975, and was the result of a joint exercise of powers of the four cities and five counties that currently comprise what is known as "Planning District 19".

Our Board of Directors is comprised of representatives of each of the aforementioned localities.

Our agency is a non-profit, tax-exempt agency that receives Federal funding under the Older Americans Act and its' subsequent reathorizations, although we accept the donation of items, services, and monetary contributions from both private and governmental entities. This  funding is realeased by the Administration on Aging, located in Washington, D.C.

At the state level, our funding is distributed by the Virginia Department for the Aging
.

As for our agency, our mission is to effectively facilitate an increased accessibility of information which will be beneficial in helping seniors and caregivers to maintain their autonomy and dignity while strengthening their faith in the humanity and kindness of others.
