David L. Sadowski, Sr.

Executive Director, David Sadowski, Sr., attended Clemson University for his Undergraduate degree, where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science, and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he obtained his Masters Degree. He has worked in the field of aging for 35 years and has served in many varied capacities, with a strong focus on client services, program planning and development, and the executive management of several different organizations. Mr. Sadowski currently serves as an advisor to several regional and statewide human service organizations and currently is the President of the Virginia Coalition for the Aging.

Director of Programs, Gladys Mason
has been with our agency since 1979 where she began as a Human Resources Developer. In that capacity, she provided assistance to elderly persons and their families and was a first point of contact with the community through her responsibities as an intake worker. In 1987, she was placed in charge of coordinating Crater's in-house transportation program. Since 1989, Mrs. Mason has held the position of Director of Programs, a position in which she is responsible for preparing, submitting and distributing all required program reports to the state.


Staff Attorney, Fletcher Cooke,
 joined Crater in October 2001, where he continues to provide legal services to seniors (anyone 60 years of age or older). The legal services offered through the agency include the preparation of wills, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and providing information in certain other areas of law relating to problems experienced by seniors. Mr. Cooke is also an Ombudsman for the Crater District area, a service which involves advocating for residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home health recipients.
