Congregate Meals

Crater Districts' Congregate Meals Program are offered at local senior centers so that we can promote an atmosphere condusive to socialization and recreation.

The centers provide persons aged 60 or older with low-cost, nutritional meals in centers located in churches, community center, and senior centers. Group meals aim to promote better health among older persons by improving nutrition and allow the participants to increase social experiences and leisure-time activities.

Centers are open three to four days each week allowing participants the opportunity to socialize, receive a nutritious meal, and enjoy activities such as arts & crafts, guest lectures, and field and shopping trips. Transportation assistance may be arranged.

Home Delivered Meals

Our Home Delivered Meals Program serves to provide nutritional meals delivered to homebound senior citizens.  A hot, nutritious lunch is delivered Monday through Friday.

You may qualify for this program if you are:
  • Homebound
  • Aged 60 or older
  • Cannot prepare your own meals
  • Spouses and disabled dependents, regardless of age, MAY also qualify.
Breakfast and supplemental foods are also provided to homebound clients once a month.

If you, or someone you love is interested in making application for either of these programs, please contact our Nutrition Director, Lorraine Chatmon at (804)732-7020, ext.405 or email her at lchatmon@cdaaa.org.
